Advocacy at face to face or telephone assessments throughout England and Wales.

We have attended hundreds of WCA and PIP assessments and are highly experienced in them. We can offer support, no matter where you live in England, Wales or Scotland. We review all of the documentation relating to your claim in advance, will chat in advance about what to expect and what the assessor is looking for to prepare you adequately for the call. On the day we will be with you in person or on the phone from start to finish, taking extensive notes of what is said by both the assessor and you. Our advocates are all trained in the PIP descriptors and have a copy of the DWP Assessment Guide with them during the assessment. We will also support you in your answers, chat with you after the assessment ends and review your assessment report when you obtain this from the DWP.

Mandatory Reconsiderations for PIP and WCA completed using up-to-date precedents and legislation

These are possibly the most underutilised part of the claim process. Often the DWP will invite you to submit a mandatory reconsideration over the phone and, almost always, it will fail if you allow them to do this. Here at PIPP’s all of our reconsiderations are drafted by a Legally Qualified Advocate, Lawyer or Barrister.

We treat a reconsideration the same way that we approach a tribunal submission, including case law relevant to your claim. We will need a copy of your assessment report, application form and any supporting medical evidence to draft this document. We will also help you to obtain your medical history, free of charge, if you need this to support your claim. You have 13 months and a day from the date of the decision to submit a mandatory reconsideration (although the DWP will often tell you that you only have one month)

Full appeal legal support service, including attending the hearing with you

We have a 98.5% success rate at appeals where we are representatives.

If your mandatory reconsideration hasn’t been successful and you instruct us to act for you, we will fill in the notice of appeal form, register with both the DWP and HMCTS as your representative, help you to obtain the evidence that you need to support your claim from your GP and the DWP and build your case for you.

We will enter a submission with the court once you have a hearing date, utilising any relevant case law and legislation and then attend with you on the day either in person or over the telephone (during the Covid 19 pandemic).

We are allowed the opportunity to ask questions of you to ensure that the panel have a clear view of your struggles and make any legal submissions at the end of the hearing.

Our fees are far below those of a high street law firm and we will not take a percentage of your arrears as a matter of course. We offer various payment methods to suit and you can even spread the cost over the life of your case.

DLA to PIP support service offered

Many claimants have been in receipt of long standing or lifetime awards of Disability Living Allowance and are naturally concerned when the DWP send out the applications forms for PIP. We can support from the point of filling in that form to attending your assessment and onwards in the process. Hopefully when we are involved at the initial stage of the process the transition should be smooth – however if it is not or you are already at risk of losing your award or Motability car then we can help.
